We asked Monarch Honda to put some parts on that were ordered by the Bike shop that shared the parking lot that went out of business. Side note: a picture of my bike is currently being displayed on Monarch Honda’s website for an ad that reads, “Most trade-ins Accepted! Come give Us a Try!” I did not give them permission to use my bike for advertising. It’s not a common bike, it’s a custom cb 750 chopper. So I know it was mine in the picture.
Anyways, when we went to pick up the bike it was in worse shape then when we left it. All the parts been installed…but, the speedo cable had been stretched and was dragging the ground. It was leaking oil. The trottle stuck and the front brake was hard as a rock. They talked as if I could ride the bike home when I picked it up. Besides not really running it was so unsafe that I would have gotten hurt.
They were so proud of what they had done with the bike and that they had done some extra services for us at a nominal fee, of course. One of the services were to rebuild the carbs and tune them. I guess they do it with sand because that is what they were full of when I broke them down. I was blown away. they had sand in them. Not just gunk or grim but real sand in the bowls.
I ended up redoing all the parts I had them do and many other things they supposedly “serviced.” I even had to rebuild the complete front brake assembly. Not to mention me rerouting the wire harness because the wires were just left in a ball under the seat where you could see them. I probably spent another $700 after the $1,200.00 I spent at Monarch Honda to get the same things repaired.
These guys are crooks and are out to rip people off. I will not let them touch another machine I own and now they are calling me to get me to by a bike from them. I will not spend another dime with Monarch Honda.
