I needed 3 parts. A tire, a tube for the tire, and a chain. The tube was sold to me immediately for a reasonable price, but they said that the tire and the chain would have to be ordered. I told them my make and model and he placed the order. I paid on the spot $80 for the tire and like $60 for the chain.
4 weeks later the chain came. I opened the chain to put in on my bike…ten links too long. I went to return the chain really bummed that I was going to have to wait another 4 weeks for the right one. WORSE! They said to return it would cost a $30 restocking fee. Ridiculous! I decided to just cut my losses and go find a chain somewhere else. I bought one online in the same brand for $19.
A couple of weeks later they called and said that the tire had come, but because they had to buy a different brand of tire it would cost an extra $40. I said well I don’t want it then, and guess what. . . $30 restocking fee! Again I went online and found the same brand tire and bought it for $59.99 A full $80 cheaper. I am glad for my experience because I have learned to do all these things for myself and to never ever give money to Monarch Honda for anything.
After all that time and then having to wait over the winter to get started on my repairs I finally opened the tube that they had sold me and it was torn near the valve. I didn’t even bother trying to return it. In the end I paid well over $100 and got ZERO functional parts.
