Monarch Honda, again, adds unnecessary parts on to a service repair

I took an old Honda scooter to monarch honda for repairs last year. it’s an ‘86 Elite 150 Deluxe. I took it there because I wanted people who knew plenty about honda bikes and scooters. I had just bought a battery from them 3 months prior, they slapped in a cheaper one and told me it was necessary and wanted to charge me full price for it even after I pulled up the invoice.

That half-sized battery didn’t last 6 months, frequently had way too much trouble starting the bike, next one I picked up from Batteries Plus did fine and is still great a year later.

Furthermore I had just bought a thumb screw for the carburetor access cover from them for a whole $5 (shame on me) and they replaced that with a rusted flathead type screw that must’ve been lying around the shop. Also lost my battery compartment cover on that visit. I pretty much feel like someone was parting out my bike for his home project.

Like other posts, the battery was an unauthorized additional part, as was a taillight I had already ordered from another company online and told them I was replacing myself. I had authorized a $90 diagnostic (didn’t start) and came back to a $350 bill for repairs I had already planned to do myself.
