The experiences I have had with monarch honda have NEVER been good, I cant say that the work I had done was bad, but the problem is with money. Everytime Ive gone there I will show up to get my bike and pay my bill. Everytime there are unauthorized parts and repairs on the bill. No phone call from them, nothing…. just a huge unexpected bill. I have friends that told me I was a fool for dealing with monarch, at the time I thought it was crazy that they would drive all the way to Nephi or Salt Lake city to other honda dealers, but it was ME that was proven to be the fool. I am friends with an ex-employee of monarch, he has told me many times that you really need to be careful when dealing with Rob, the guy has good people skills, is very tactful, and will screw you in a heartbeat. He says that Mike is almost as bad, but doesnt have the people skills.
I work with a guy who bought a bike from monarch last year, they were doing a tires for life promotion. Basicly he was promised new tires for along as he owned the bike, recently his extended warranty ended. At that time he was told he wasnt going to get his tires anymore. These guys are scammers, I will never go back there.

I took an old Honda scooter there for repairs last year. it’s an ’86 Elite 150 Deluxe. I took it there because I wanted people who knew plenty about honda bikes and scooters. I had just bought a battery from them 3 months prior, they slapped in a cheaper one and told me it was necessary and wanted to charge me full price for it even after I pulled up the invoice. That half-sized battery didn’t last 6 months, frequently had way too much trouble starting the bike, next one I picked up from batteries plus did fine and is still great a year later.
Furthermore I had just bought a thumb screw for the carburetor access cover from them for a whole $5 (shame on me) and they replaced that with a rusted flathead type screw that must’ve been lying around the shop. Also lost my battery compartment cover on that visit. I pretty much feel like someone was parting out my bike for his home project.
Like other posts, the battery was an unauthorized additional part, as was a taillight I had already ordered from another company online and told them I was replacing myself. I had authorized a $90 diagnostic (didn’t start) and came back to a $350 bill for repairs I had already planned to do myself.
Ugh, that sounds terrible. Thanks for sharing this. I just can’t believe how many of these stories keep popping up. What are some better options for us out there? In terms of service and repair?
